The Dimensional Gap is the passage between Midgard and the world of Vanaheim. Vanaheim's magic is seeping through to Midgard little by little, causing the monsters around the gap to become agressive and polluting the plants to death.
The Prontera knights and the magicians of Geffen's Magic Academy have been investigating the gap for a long time, but there does not seem to be any clear reason as to why the dimensional gap has occurred.[1]
